David McQueen is a Principal Analyst with Informa Telecoms & Media. He leads the Handsets and Devices team and has a key focus on mobile device developments and vendor strategies worldwide. In his role David covers mobile handsets, smartphones and connected devices, including smartbooks, tablet, netbooks and notebooks, from both a hardware and software perspective but has a particular interest in new application convergence. He is a frequent speaker and chair at international conferences, as well as a regular press commentator. His recent research interests include smartphone usage, mobile operating systems trends, cost per gigabyte and mobile broadband devices.
David joined ARC Group, which later became part of Informa Telecoms & Media, in April 2000 as a Senior Analyst/Forecaster. Prior to that he was a Senior Analyst with Post Office Consulting Group, managing a team of analysts working closely with directors and senior managers on major projects for new product development and strategic analysis of competitors. David has also worked as a Project Manager/Market Analyst at CMA Ltd., a telecoms consultancy specialising in mobile communications.
David holds a Masters degree in marketing and honours degree in econometrics and mathematical economics.
